Effective immediately, California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation has increased its franchise filing fees for various franchise applications:
- Franchise Registration: $1,865
- Franchise Renewal: $1,245
- Initial Notices of Exemption: $1,245 (Large Franchisor, Experienced Franchisee, Fractional Franchise, and Large Franchisee)
- Exemption Renewals/Notices: $415
- Notices of Violation: $1,865
These fees reflect a more than two-times increase from the previous franchise filing fees. Contact your franchise attorney to discuss implications of these increased filing fees on your state registration strategy.
